Did anyone hear about the secret meeting that Microsoft and Adobe had, discussing ways of overcoming Apple in the mobile phone market?

A possible acquisition of Adobe by Microsoft were among the options.

I for one, would HATE to see Adobe be purchased by Microsoft (and so would Google) as Flash is used by 98% of the World's desktop users and I'm positive they would eventually drop Linux support and integrate with SilverLight. And let's not even bring up Photoshop and how the chances of it being ported to Linux will be zero.

I suggest you read the article as it's important to the future of the desktop.

Errm, I'm pretty sure that microsoft are more pro-open source than Adobe these days.

I think they're getting better with the community yes, but that's open source, not Linux. I don't think they'd be very Linux-friendly when it comes to Flash.

If it'd integrate into Silverlight we pretty soon would have Moonlight replacing flash on linux.

That'd be terrible. Go go Mono

Do you know something we don't about Adobe and plans for a Linux version of Photoshop? >.>

I wish. I just feel that Adobe would be more likely to release a product under Linux over Microsoft, although Adobe is still such a low percentage that I shouldn't even consider the possibility.

Don't be so sure about losing Linux support under such a scenario. MS does support Moonlight development with specs and code and they do still have the EU and the DoJ looking over their shoulder.
